Privacy Policy

Living Cost Compare ("we", "us") does not require an account, a login, or any form submission to use the site — every page is public, static cost-of-living data. This policy covers the one thing we do collect: anonymous analytics, and only if you accept it.

What we collect

We don't operate accounts, don't run ads (yet — see below), and don't have any forms that ask for personal information. The only data collection on this site is optional website analytics via Google Analytics 4 (GA4), described below.

Cookies

We show a cookie banner on your first visit. If you click Accept, Google Analytics loads and sets first-party cookies (typically named _ga and _ga_*) to distinguish visitors and sessions. These cookies let us see aggregate traffic patterns — which pages are popular, roughly which country visitors come from, device/browser type, and how people found the site — so we know what content is worth expanding. If you click Decline, or don't choose at all, Google Analytics never loads and no analytics cookies are set for your visit.

You can change your choice anytime via Cookie preferencesin the footer, which re-opens the banner. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Hosting & server logs

Like almost any website, our hosting and CDN providers (Vercel and Cloudflare) process standard connection information (IP address, request timestamps, user agent) as part of serving pages and preventing abuse. This is infrastructure-level logging, not something we query or use ourselves, and follows each provider's own privacy practices.

Advertising

We don't currently run any advertising or advertising cookies. If we add advertising in the future (e.g. Google AdSense), we'll update this policy first and, where required, ask for renewed consent.

Data sharing

We don't sell or share any data with third parties other than Google, which processes analytics data as described above under its own privacy policy.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially (for example, when we add advertising), we'll update the date at the top of this page.
